Penny... and her new halter

Last Saturday Penny tried out her brand new halter! I brought my halter, rope, and grooming kit. I admit, I was very scared, but she didn sooo well with the halter even though she's not officially halter trained and she hasn't worn a halter since fall. Never have I been so happy with that horse.
Then at dinner that night Dad said something that made me choke up crying. His exact words were : "Man, that horse loves her." Never in my life have I had a horse love and know and recongize me. I could barely get to sleep I was sooo excited. Tommorow or sunday will be my next time visiting her and I can't wait.

  1. I am so happy the hlater fit! I knew it would!! Of course your father is right -- I am sure Penny loves you. You pay attention to her, and take care of her. I am sure she looks forward to your visits. Sounds like the beginning of a life long friendship.....It is a very special thing to have a friendship with a horse. You are fortunate!

  2. That is so sweet! I think you can tell when a horse likes someone. People have said that about me and my horse, that he is different towards me then he is for others! :)

  3. I wrote to you on Saturday evening regarding your question to me about what to do about your blog and your parents' concerns. I do not see that comment posted, so I am thinking perhaps I did something wrong and it did not get submitted (??). I cannot remember exactly what I said to you, but it was along these lines:
Your parents are right to be concerned about on-line communications with strangers. It is their job to make sure you are protected, and you should feel secure that they care about you. Do not hide anything online from them -- in fact, I would recommend quite the opposite. Let them read your postings, comments to and from others, and other blogs you are reading. That way, if something happens that makes them concerned, they can take the proper steps to watch out for you. I would like to think that all the horse people you meet online are good hearted, normal people and that you won't have any problems, but unfortunately in this world no one can make that promise. So let your parents check it all out, and help guide you through this cyber world as they do the real world. Do NOT do this without their guidance and supervision.
