Penny.....

Today a high of fifty, early 1:00 dissmisal, and mom's not home it was the perfect conditions for me to go see Penny. To walk and groom her, to hug her, and to feel her muzzle against my chest.
But no Brianna had ans ortho and I was stuck at home doing nothing. Eventually I played Mario Kart on the wii with my sis but its still no fun. Of all things I wanted to go see Penny today because on Saturday I have an Academic Team (cuz I'm a nerd) Tournament at another school all day. Oh Well.


ps~ if anyone was interested in last weeks visit with Penny, Just so you know it was cold, she was skittish, and we all had running noses.

Penny... and her new halter

Last Saturday Penny tried out her brand new halter! I brought my halter, rope, and grooming kit. I admit, I was very scared, but she didn sooo well with the halter even though she's not officially halter trained and she hasn't worn a halter since fall. Never have I been so happy with that horse.
Then at dinner that night Dad said something that made me choke up crying. His exact words were : "Man, that horse loves her." Never in my life have I had a horse love and know and recongize me. I could barely get to sleep I was sooo excited. Tommorow or sunday will be my next time visiting her and I can't wait.

The Storm

Yesterday I was soo excited for the weekend so that i could groom Penny, and walk her on the halter and just love her. But nope It snow stormed last night and still is and I'm not allowed to see her. Instead I'm stuck reading "Misty" all day long (great book though).

Maybe tommarow will be a better day. maybe I can see if the halter will fit tommarow, give her and apple and leave.

I truly hope to visit her today after school

Spring hurry up!

While going on through my daily life, one of my horse friends had something to say to me.

So my mom said this summer you can come out to our stables. You can come over and ride whenever but you have to work it off my mom will give you free lessons too. And if you work really hard and my mom trusts you, you might get to own and show your on horse!

Well after she told me this i was so excited that i could jump off a bridge.

I'll need a horse to get me through the day....

"Daddy pleeasse can we go see her tommarow before school please?"

An apple on the counter for penny boots laid out, clothes and everything ready for school. This was an opprotunity i couldn't pass up.

"Deal"

Yes yes yes! so at 7:20 me and Dad set out for the barn near the highway.
Clutching the apple, I couldn't wait to see her. This was all I needed to get through the day.

No it wasn't when I got to school, during science, we were drawing animal names for mammal projects. I knew a horse was in that bucket so when me and myBFF Bailee drew a name, An ELEPHANT! ggggggrrrr. The kids who did get horse got stupid pictures and stupid info and, and ahhhhhh!

I guess its a good thing I didn't get the horse project, I would have wrote a book.
